Somehow when I run the game in windowed mode it maintains the aspect ratio but when I switch to fullscreen it goes back to 16:9 streched And windowed mode is unplayable because really bad fps as well as the border/taskbar showing.

My GTA IV downgraded to 1.0.7.0 used to work perfectly. Then today I decided to do a clean reinstall to remove any mods, but after the downgrade of the clean new copy, it fails to launch the game (I'm running LaunchGTAIV.exe as an administrator). The game starts, it shows the first disclaimer screen and then crashes.

Posted December 15, 2012. Don't worry, if you don't know what a mod is you most likely don't have any mods installed. Try running the game in Safe mode. The graphics will be of lower quality but at least the game will run. Once you complete the mission you can then turn safe mode off. Try that now and then post back in this thread.
